Story Time

20 picture books, read aloud by Masti.

Each book opens as a two-page spread: a picture on the left, one big sentence on the right, written with the words your child meets in the lessons. Masti reads it, or the child reads and taps “I read it!” for a star a page. Three questions at the end, then stars. A new book is added regularly.

Masti sits on a rug reading a big open picture book to a girl and a boy.

How it works

A book, a reader, a quiz

  1. The cover of The Fox and the Hen: a painted hen on a farm fence with a fox peeking from the hedge; Masti asks “Shall I read it to you?” beside the Read to me and I'll read buttons.

    1. Pick a book

Every book has its own painted cover. Masti offers to read; a child who can read chooses “I'll read”.

  2. A two-page spread: a brown hen on the left page and the sentence “Pip is a little red hen.” on the right, with a small picture of the hen popping up above the tapped word “hen”; Masti says “Your turn. I am listening.”

    2. A spread, a sentence, a tap

The word being read lights up as Masti says it. Tap any word to hear it again, and a picture word shows its picture. A child reading alone taps “I read it!” and earns a star for every page they read themselves.

  3. Question 1 of 3: Who is Pip? with picture tiles for Hen, Fox and Box.

    3. Three questions

Who is Pip? What colour was the ball? The answers are pictures, so the youngest readers can play too. Then stars, and a medal on the way to Bookworm.

With Masti Buddy

New stories from the words your child knows

When the Story Time switch is on, Masti Buddy can also write a short new story using only the words your child has already mastered, plus two new ones, illustrated with pictures from the lessons. Every story it writes appears in your child's report, so you can read it too.

Story Time has its own switch in Settings. Turn it off and it disappears from the child's screen straight away.

What else Masti Buddy does
The Masti Buddy settings card: switches for Explain it, Story Time, Practice coach and Ask Buddy, with a note that every AI conversation is visible in the weekly report.
